Being prepared for any emergency is the best way to protect your family. The Getting Ready booklet is designed to help you write a family emergency plan and to put together a disaster kit. The plan will include contact information and where to meet if family members are separated. The disaster kit will consist of basic supplies you need to survive such food, water and medications.

How can you get started? See how many of the disaster kits supplies you already have in your home. The supply checklist is on pages 19-21 in the Getting Ready booklet.
