WELCOME !!

The State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) and the Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management extends our invitation to attend the 12th Annual LEPC/SERC Conference on September 25-27, 2006 at the Marriott Hotel in Charleston, WV.

We invite you to join us in Charleston for the opportunity to meet and network with key emergency response, planning and training personnel in West Virginia.

This year’s conference will begin on Monday, September 25th at noon with a luncheon and speaker. The remainder of the day will include updating attendees on happenings within West Virginia, from IRP Communications to the Emergency Operations Plan. Tuesday will continue with a Homeland Security Exercise and concurrent classes for those not involved in the exercise. Wednesday will wind down the conference with a SERC Commission meeting, CERT’s and other state programs.

You may register for the conference by completing the registration form (available at www.wvdhsem.gov) and faxing or mailing it to WVDHSEM at 1900 Kanawha Blvd, Bldg. 1, Room EB-80, Charleston, WV 25305; (fax) 304-344-4538. You may also register by phone at (304) 558-5380. Please register by September 15, 2006 if possible.

Why attend?

You will have the chance to network with other LEPC members, directors and emergency response personnel throughout the state. The conference will provide attendees with information for the ongoing education required and requested in emergency preparedness, response, planning.

The conference will also provide additional information on upcoming training opportunities in West Virginia.

A draft agenda is currently being produced and a final agenda will be distributed shortly. Monday evening has been reserved for vendors and exhibits at the Marriott Hotel to assist in information and networking
